Genesis, Amanda and I converted a study table at the Bushwick Public Library into a fabric mapping station.
The youngest mapper was a 5 and were also joined by teenagers, young parents and grandparents.
Public schools and libraries were marked as positive, safe spaces.
Our 5-year-old mapper added some dark blue water droplets to mark the mysterious liquid that fell on her head at the haunted mansion on Coney Island.  That was the place that she thought was unsafe, and very, very scary.
A teenager on crutches marked where a car hit him on Graham Avenue near the Game City store as a negative space.
And a grandmother with her two granddaughters marked PS 196 on Montrose Ave. as a safe place and also as a place that’s important for arts and culture.  Join us next Thursday from 3-5PM!
